Kari Dosai is a variety dosai topped with egg and shredded mutton / chicken that has been cooked in flavorful spices. This dish is famous in “Konar Kadai, Madurai”. Whenever we visit Madurai, we make it a point to visit this hotel and enjoy this yummy dosai and other tiffin. The place is famous for non-veg food. A perfect Tamil style fusion dish.
I have made Kari dosai by using my “Mutton fry ” recipe. It was so good that we didn’t feel like missing the Kari Dosai anymore. Tastes superb as such or just pair it up with some plain / chicken / mutton salna or kuzhambu. I love to have it with plain / empty salna while husband prefers some non-veg curry to go with it.
Best dish for weekend breakfast or dinner. I can eat this during any meal of the day. Do try it out and enjoy!

Ingredients
- Dosai maavu / Dosa batter – 3 cups
- Mutton Fry (Shredded) – 1 cup
- Eggs – 2
- Sesame oil – 3 tbsp
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
- Pepper – 1/2 tsp
Procedure
- In a bowl, add in the eggs, salt and pepper and mix it well using a whisk or fork.
- Keep all the other ingredients ready.

- Heat a dosai pan. I used an iron pan.
- Pour in a ladle of dosai batter.
- Top it with egg. It is alrite if it comes out. Just scrape it and put on the dosai.
- Then top it with shredded mutton.
- Add 1 tsp sesame oil in the sides.

- Cover and cook in medium flame for 1 minute.
- Flip and cook for 1 – 2 minutes.

- Delicious Kari Dosai is ready.
- Serve hot with some plain salna / chicken salna / mutton salna or even without any sides. Tastes delicious.
Notes
- If you want more flavor, you can add finely chopped curry leaves or coriander leaves to the mutton fry or just as a topping directly on the dosai. For a change you can add garam masala too.
- But I prefer this method without any change.
- You can skip adding egg if you do not prefer it.
- Mutton fry can be replaced with chicken fry too.
